385 children in Kumba, Cameroon are going to school because a family refused to let a grandfather's dream die. You can be part of what keeps that going.
Every form of support; a single scholarship, a recurring gift, a corporate partnership flows directly to the Metropolitan Bilingual School through SONACAM Foundation, Inc.'s formal partnership agreement with MBNPS. Every dollar is documented, tracked, and reported.
Sponsor a Scholarship — $97
The most direct way to make an impact is to sponsor one child's annual school fees.
$97 USD (60,000 CFA) is what it costs to keep one child in school for a full year at MBNPS. That fee also keeps a teacher paid. It keeps the lights on. It keeps the doors open for the next child who walks through them.
Year 1 goal: 20 scholarships. $1,940 total.
Giving Levels
$97 — Sponsor 1 student for a full year
$194 — Sponsor 2 students
$485 — Sponsor 5 students
$1,940 — Fund all 20 Year 1 scholarships
Want to give annually? Select 'recurring' when donating. Recurring donors are the foundation of everything they make it possible for Mrs. Sona and her team to plan ahead, hire teachers, and serve families with confidence.
Support the School Development Fund
Beyond scholarships, MBNPS has immediate infrastructure needs and a long-term vision that requires capital support. The School Development Fund covers both.
Immediate priorities:
Restroom renovation and repair
Replacement of classroom tables and chairs
School gate repair and security reinforcement
Structural reinforcement of the school building
Phase 2 — Curriculum enrichment:
Computer lab equipment for ICT instruction
STEM teaching materials and lab supplies
Library development and books
Phase 3 — The vocational campus:
Electrical trade training facilities
Vocational workshop spaces
Computer training center
Expanded classroom blocks for secondary students
This is the technical school Samuel Mbo Sona tried to build and was turned away from. We are building it in his name, on the same land, in the same city. Capital gifts and project-based grants toward the School Development Fund are welcome at any stage.
